Have you ever found yourself drained from watching people and listening to their opinions?
That’s where critical thinking steps in. While there’s much to be learned from others, the key differentiator lies in making informed decisions.
Naturally, we gravitate toward beliefs similar to our own and we often go out of our way to reinforce these beliefs.
There’s nothing inherently wrong with this tendency, but it’s worth asking yourself some important questions:
What am I supporting today to build a better tomorrow?
- Am I doing what’s right in the grander scheme of things?
- In what ways does this information create value?
- Is this helping me make a difference? And, for whom does it make a difference?
- How does this inspire others to do more?
- Do I care? In what way?
- What would the world look like if there were identical representations of me?
- How would I feel on the receiving end?
- Am I holding myself to the same standards that I hold others accountable?
- Do I show empathy and compassion for those who are not like me?
A Final Reflection
When all else fails, ask yourself:
🌟 What skeletons do I have in my closet that would contradict everything that I advocate for and preach?
By exploring these questions, we deepen our self-awareness and ensure our actions align with our values – key steps toward growth and making a meaningful impact.
