We all know the feeling. “Not yet.”
“I’ll speak up when I’m more confident.”
“I’ll pursue that idea once life calms down.”
“I’ll go for it when I’m ready.”

But let’s be real: there is no perfect time.
Waiting often feels responsible, mature, and even wise. But in reality, it can be a socially acceptable disguise for fear.

People often delay decisions, waiting for the “perfect moment” to act whether it’s launching a business, speaking up for change, or pursuing personal goals. But what if the right time doesn’t exist?

Think back to Blockbuster. They hesitated to shift to streaming while Netflix bet on the future. That pause didn’t preserve their model, it buried it.

And closer to home:

  • Maybe you’ve scrolled past a job posting or paused before sending an email that could shift your path, and told yourself, “Next time.”
  • Maybe you avoided a conversation that could’ve changed everything.
  • Maybe you held off on higher education because the timing never felt right, only to realize five years later that the delay didn’t bring clarity, it brought regret.

The right time didn’t slip by. It was never coming. And deep down, we know it.

Key Truths:

  • Readiness isn’t a prerequisite, it’s a result. You learn in motion, not in stillness.
  • The longer we delay, the more we disconnect from momentum.
  • And while we wait, someone with half the plan but double the courage is already building it.

💡Ask yourself:

  • What am I postponing in the name of “timing”?
    Write it down. Disarm it.
  • What’s one imperfect action I can take this week to test the water?
Draft the idea. Make the ask. Block the time. Movement matters more than polish.
  • Who can I share it with for encouragement and accountability?
Accountability makes the next step real.

Just start. In public or in private. With a whisper or a roar.
