Like so many others, I’ve had to regroup and adapt to the changes that 2020 brought about. Balancing career unpredictability with the “new normal” of chaos is no small feat, but I’ve realized that inaction only wastes time and leads nowhere fast.

The Weight of Overanalysis

When we overanalyze and cling to the illusion of unchanging security, we miss out on the limitless choices life has to offer. Many of us are consumed by an obsessive need to know what’s happening now and what tomorrow will bring.

But here’s the reality: Wondering what the future holds is a tough question, no matter your age. Instead of striving to control the unknown, we must learn to get comfortable with the discomfort of uncertainty.

Wabi-Sabi: Finding Beauty in Imperfection

The ancient Japanese philosophy of Wabi-Sabi teaches us to embrace life’s unpredictability and celebrate things as they are, not as we think they “should” be.

Life is unpredictable and that’s okay. When nothing is certain, everything becomes possible. Our plans for tomorrow, next month, or next year may not unfold the way we envision. Yet, it’s crucial to take action and keep moving forward.

Progress comes not from avoiding uncertainty, but from embracing it. What steps can you take today to celebrate the unpredictable and make meaningful strides?
